My first lone camping at New Zealand.
Napier, New Zealand..... 6th-Feb-2016
Napier is a small city of about 55000 to 58000 population. Its is called fruit fall of New Zealand because lots and lots of fruits belong to this region like Apple, Pear, Apricot, Plum, Cherries, various berries.
It is home to so many classical wine from New Zealand. It has fantastic bay, lots and lots of hiking point and beautiful countryside of new zealand where i am staying with my host Marian working at tourist department and enjoying cooking together.
Its a long wekend in New Zealand and Monday is going to be holiday and enjoying Napier here.
It has a port. They exports lot of woods basically made of pine trees as old as 20-25 year old, big big log they export mostly to China.
Also they have a port, Cruze Ship comes there and that is a big income for town because they visit restaurants and shopping place etc etc.
I had a host here 49 year young lady name Marian, awesome person and she cycles 11km everyday for the work. In 1985, 1991, 2015 she has travelled to India. Also she has travelled to 40+ countries, extremely fit. She has a beautiful house, one of the loviest home you can see in New Zealand.
We had a almost like 5 meal at her place. First night she cooked Thai Curry and rice dinner for me. For two days i cooked various types of parathas like aaloo paratha, onion paratha, radish paratha and also paneer paratha. Also made egg curry. We would have a long dinner in lawn in her backyard, sit and have long conversation.
I was living like a local person. We went to ocean beach closeby.I had never been to deep sea and really thankful to Marian for inspiring me to go deeper into the sea swimming. This was a breakthrough in my life. Also learned little bit of what surfing is about and i had my own surfboard.
On the way back home we went to waterfall and it is made in such a way you can jump off the waterfall and pool below and swim there. That was one day.
Other day we went for cycle, we cycled 52 km virtually cycle gave us an averge of 20km of speed. Fantastic experience. We stopped in between at wineyard, sheepfarm, cow dairy farm and orchards.
That is how i spend my days in Napier. and i was ready really go to Taupo and Rotorua tourist place in New Zealand, Before i go to South Island.
Hitchike from Hamilton to Napier, New Zealand... 6th Feb 2016.
Its 6th of February and its friday and i am in Hamilton and i need to move Napier, i booked my ticket for intercity bus at 2:45 PM that really arrived me at 7:34 PM in the city of Napier. But my host told me to hitchike as jus like a touristic route and will get lot of people to give me lift . I was not really very confident because i have never done hitchhiking in life so i said ok and lets me just try this out. It dropped me at 10:15PM just at city where most of people would be going out on the boat.
Within 3-5 minute i got my first car who gave me lift. Inside i found person who could i relate fantastically well and from city as a stock broker David. He said he is not going to Napier but on the way can drop me. He need to go to Rotwa and take left from highway, i said okay "Drop me". And we had a fantastic conversation about capital market, what funds he is marketing and how the new Zealand economy is doing. And its like very very interesting conversation. He dropped me and again in 2 minutes time.
I got another guy who gave me ride, he is young chap working in New Zealand navy and going to attend a wedding. He said he can drop me 40 minutes from where i was standing. I said "ok drop me". He dropped me at the petrol station.
And again in two three minutes i get another rider, they are a couple working as a school teacher in School. We had fantastic life conversation because they dropped me to a very very popular place called Taupo on way which is 2/3rd distance between Hamilton to Napier. Very interesting thing i got to know is the national requirement for student to teacher ratio in schools is 1 teacher for every 28 students. So if there is a school in the countryside that has maybe say 60 students then they would have just two teachers. This is the way education system works, very very good quality. So this couple drop me at Taupo which 140 km away from Napier. And it was about to rain and trying my luck for hitchhiking.
And i saw a lady asking me to come in her car and i got a ride up to Napier to the home where i had to go. This lady was a fantastic person, shad lived in 7-9 countries 2-3 years each. Spend about 30 years living in various countries for long long duration. Extreme traveler in her life 100+ countries. Fantastic talking to her on way from anything and any subject. Like human behaviour.
For 4.5 hour of travelling 160 km, i took four rides during hitchhiking from Hamilton to Napier. It was just really fantastic and amazing as good as having my own car. What got me required is engaging them in any conversation on flags, economy, travel etc etc. getting general kind of knowledge and be smart enough to engage the lift provider into some common topic where they would really loved to give you lift, enjoy the conversation time together. I found this hitchhiking experience interestingly interesting and it lift my confidence multi fold to try this in almost all countries wherever it is possible. All and all it was a fantastic experience for me and now i am in city of Napier.

Beautiful Hamilton Garden in New Zealand
Touristic aspect of Hamilton it is 4th largest city in New Zealand and longest flowing river, about 495 km long river flows through Hamilton. Very well known aspect is they have 80 acre garden called Hamilton Garden and within that are different different gardens like Chineses garden, Rose Garden, European Garden, Italian Garden. Also Hamilton give this country lot of cricketers basically.
The above picture is on kitchen garden where they are growing some 150 kind of vegitable a in single small location to show everything is possible with organic farming.
Visit to Dairy Farm in Karapiro, New Zealand.
A friend Mat Hopkins, own a dairy farm and this dairy farm is 40 km from Hamilton, a village called Karapiro. SO i went there its 100 hectare farm, 320 milking cows, its a pasture based farming. That means its cutting the fodder from farm and bringing it and feeding it to the animals. They are really left free to graze in their habitat.
Electrical fence is put so that they can graze in their particular demarked areas. I went there and saw how the fending is done, that was pretty interesting for me.
I found New Zealand is very very big in terms of dairy exports. Frontier is a dairy co-operative that has revenues in excess of 20 Billion US Dollars.
I found this dairy farming concept very interesting. In financial number terms it can give about 6% to 15% return on your total investment i.e debt plus equity. Decent rate of return. Very interesting business. Inspired really.
